Hi everyone this was just a little something that popped into my head, as usual it's not very long i'm afraid! But please do tell me what you think :)

'Well I don't know about you but I think i'm ready for a coffee, what do you think?' Chris asked Karen as they stopped outside a Starbucks. "Yeah sounds good to me." It was a beautiful summers day in Colorado, and Karen and Chris had decided to go a wander down to the local shops. They walked into the Starbucks hand in hand with big smiles on their faces even though they were a bit worn out from the days events, and here were a few people in the que but they didn't mind, they just talked and laughed between themselves. After a few minutes Chris spotted his ex wife sitting at a table with a couple of her friends. 'Oh there's Jill I'd better go and see if she is picking up the boys from school, we haven't arranged anything for this week. You know what I want right?' He asked while giving her some money as they were almost next to order. "Yes of course I do!" She smiled and he kissed her forehead 'back in a sec' he told her and walked over to where Jill and her friends were sitting. 'Hey, just wondered if you were picking up the boys or if you wanted me to do it? We forgot to arrange anything when I last spoke to you.' He asked her. 'They're both going to a friends house today so no you don't need to pick them up but thanks anyway.' She told him. 'Ahh ok well tell them I'll be in if they want to come round later.' 'Ok will do.' And he walked back over to Karen where she was just recieving their coffees. 'Damn, why did he have to go and get so fit after we split up.' Jill said to her friends, who laughed. 'Yeah he's not half bad actually.' one of her friends stated, having a look at Chris as he walked away. 'Yeah, she's a lucky lady.' her other friend said, as they saw Chris placing his hand on Karen's lower back. 'Alright, you can stop now!' Jill told her firends as they all laughed. 'What do you think of her then? I mean they've been together a while now.' her friend asked. 'Yeah they have, and as much as I hate to say it, she is so nice. She just gets on with everybody you know? You can't not like her when you meet her.' Jill said as she watched Karen and Chris chatting and laughing with the assistant who had got their coffees for them. 'So do you regret splitting up with him then?' her other friend asked after Chris and Karen had left the shop. 'No, I don't think so. Looking back now it was the right decision, it jut wansn't working and we're both happier now I think that's the main thing.'
Back at the house, Karen and Chris had just finished a lovely dinner which they had cooked together. "Well that was really good, I think we make a good team, me and you." She told him as they began to clear up. 'Yeah I think we do!' He smiled and gave her a quick kiss. Once they'd finished clearing up the dishes, they went outside for a while, and made the most of the beautiful day they were having. Eventually it started to get cold so they went back inside and relaxed on the sofa in front of the TV.
'Today has been so nice, it's been ages since we got to spend some time together just the two of us.' "Yeah it was lovely, I've really missed spending quality time with you." 'Me too' he smiled and leaned down to kiss her. The kiss grew more passionate, and they soon shared a knowing look and got up and headed to the bedroom while occasionally stopping to share a kiss inbetween fits of giggles and trying to get each others clothes off.
After, they were just getting their breath back and relaxing in each others arms when Karen had a thought. "You know I just realised that we've been together for nearly 5 years now." She told him. 'Yeah I suppose it will be, but it doesn't seem like that long though. I guess time flies when you're having fun.' He smiled up at her. "Yeah I guess it does." She smiled back. 'You know what's strange though? It never felt weird us getting together, you know?' Karen nodded in agreement. 'You would have thought after being friends for so long that it would have been slightly weird or strange getting together, but it really wasn't.' "No, it just felt right." She agreed. 'I've never told you this but I was actually a bit scared when we first got together.' He told her. "You were scared? Why? What of?" She asked, slightly worried. 'Just the fact that we had been friends for so long and if anything had gone wrong then I would have lost you forever, and that would have been horrible.' He told her. "Well, it's a good thing that nothing did go wrong, and we are still together and very happy." She said, and kissed him. 'Yes we are' He smiled and kissed her again, and then let out a yawn. "Oh sorry, am I boring you?" Karen asked with a smile on her face. 'Well no you are not boring me, but you did drag me round loads of shops, which has made me very tired!' he told her. "Hey! I did not drag you round loads of shops it was only a few, and anyway you said you enjoyed today!" 'Well it seemed like a lot! And yes I did, because I was with you of course!' "Hmm, if you say so. I suppose we should get to sleep, it's been a long day." 'Yes it has, with all that shops you dragged me to!' "Would you stop! I did not drag you thank you very much, you came of your own free will!" 'I'm only joking, and I did enjoy spending time with you.' He gave her a quick kiss. "Good and I enjoyed it too, now go to sleep. I love you." She said and kissed him. 'I love you too.' He said and wrapped his arms round her.
Karen woke at around 4am, and as much as she tried she couldn't get back to sleep. She smiled at Chris who was sleeping peacefully next to her, and gently stroked his hair. She carefully got out of bed, trying not to wake Chris, and went to make a cup of tea. Chris woke a few minutes later, sensing that Karen wasn't next to him. He could see that she wasn't in their bathroom, so he went to look for her and found her out on the deck, enjoying the peace and quiet of the early morning. He went and sat down behind her, wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on her shoulder. 'I missed you.' He murmured, still half asleep. "I've only been gone 10 minutes!" She laughed. 'I know, but I still missed you.' "Silly boy." She smiled. "We're so lucky to live here, it's so beautiful." 'Just like you then.' He told her, kissing her neck and cheeks. "Well I think you must still be half asleep, because i'm certainly not beautiful at 4 o'clock in the morning!" She replied. 'Well I think I am half asleep actually, but you are most definitely beautiful. And at all times of the day, whether it's 4 o'clock in the morning or 4 o'clock in the afternoon, you are always beautiful.' He told her. "Well thank you." She smiled at him. 'No problem princess. Hey are you getting cold?' He asked, noticing she was shivering slightly. "Yeah just a little." 'Come here' He said pulling her closer to him to try and warm her up. 'Shall we go back to bed? It'll be a lot warmer there.' He asked her. "Yeah that sounds good" She agreed and they headed back up to bed. Chris pulled Karen on top of him and pulled the covers over them to try and warm her up a bit. 'There is that better?' He asked. "Yeah it is ,thank you." 'You're very welcome my love.' He said and kissed her. 'I was thinking about what you said before about us being happy together.' He told her. "Oh yeah, what about it?" She asked. 'Well, I don't think i've ever been as happy as when i'm with you. You just make me so happy.' He smiled. "Aww, that's so sweet. And I don't think I've ever been this happy either." She told him and kissed him. 'Good' he smiled and then yawned again. "Not this again." Karen rolled her eyes. 'Hey! It's 4.30 in the morning, I think i'm allowed to be tired!' He said. "I know, I'm only joking. I'm tired too, so go to sleep." She got off him and went back over to her side of the bed. 'Mmm, love you' He said, cuddling up to her almost asleep already. She smiled and kissed his head, "I love you too."
