Dancing on Ice Fanfiction

hey all, i wrote this a very long time ago at about 3 in the morning, I have no idea what this idea came from (actually that's kind of a lie i think it came from an old tv show that was on about 10 years ago) it's a bit sad and I must admit I did at one point get a little teary when writing it so that's just a little warning for you all. This isn't the fic I mentioned in my previous ones just a little one shot I thought I would post.

He didn't know what he was going to do without her, never had he thought he would have to carry on without her by his side. 

It was the little and simple things he missed the most, Her embarrassed smile whenever anyone paid her a compliment, the sound of her laughter when she was happy, the smell of her perfume on the pillow.

He missed her so much that he didn't know how to go on. 

He stood in front of the mirror staring at his reflection as he attempted to tie his own tie it was a simple thing that she always used to do for him. 

It had been 10 days now, 10 days since she had been ripped away from him. 

10 very long days since the heart and soul of his world had been removed and the worse thing was he never even got the chance to say goodbye.

She giggled softly from the doorway as she watched the expression on his face 

"here let me?"

She smiled placing her hands on his shoulders and turning him around to face her, she began to fix his tie explaining exactly what she was doing as she did it.

"see it's really not that hard!" 

She winked as she pulled his collar down and straightened out his shirt. 

"What am I going to do without you?" 

He asked softly as he stroked her cheek 

"you'll manage, you already are, and besides I'm always going to be with you aren't i, in here" 

she tapped his chest gesturing to his heart 

"and here" 

she added as she tapped his head gently as he smiled sadly down at her 

"plus you have Jayne. And she's going to take very good care of you. Otherwise Im gonna make her life a misery" 

she laughed as he did too

 "see that's better!" 

She said as he smiled before sighing 

"the car will be here soon!" 

She informed him as he nodded 

"will you promise me one thing? Well two things?" 

She added a few seconds later as he nodded 

"anything baby" 

he replied as she smiled slightly

"No darn Lilies" 

she laughed as he rolled his eyes 

"and the second thing?" 

He asked lightly as she looked down at the floor 

"That you'll never forget me, That you'll move on from me but never forget me?" 

He lent down and kissed her delicate lips 

"never my darling, never" 

he promised as she smiled sadly 

"good" 

she replied as he pulled her closely into his body inhaling the soft scent of her perfume and smell for the final time.

"why did you have to leave me?"

 He asked once she had pulled away as a tear rolled down his cheek she shrugged 

"it was just my time I guess. Everyone has a time and this is mine!" 

She wiped the tear from his cheek with the back of her hand as her own eyes began to fill 

"oh god I miss you so much" 

he stoked her cheek again leaving his hand resting on it 

"I miss you too" she whispered 

"but you'll see me again one day. I'll be waiting with a huge cup of coffee for you in a nice peaceful park somewhere" she laughed gently 

"but not just yet. Their not ready for you here. Only special people get to arrive early. Only special angels get to live here! Your not special enough yet!" 

She added with a wink as she poked gently at his chest 

"but remember sweetheart. This isn't goodbye. This is just goodnight" 

she smiled sadly as she saw the reflection of the clock in the mirror 

"it's time baby" she whispered 

"no not yet. Please just 5 more minutes" 

he begged as she shook her head a tear trickling down her cheek 

"I'm sorry, it's time for me to go" 

she whispered as she smiled sadly 

"I love you" 

she leaned forward and placed a final delicate kiss onto his lips as she felt herself start to drift away 

"not as much as I love you" 

he replied as the room suddenly fell cold, that was it she was gone, his beautiful little princess had become an angel.

 He turned back to the mirror to see his tie was now perfectly in place, he smiled slightly as he ran his hand down it. 

"The cars here" 

he heard Jayne say lightly from the doorway as he nodded 

"she's here Jayne all around." 

Jayne took a step towards her best friend and placed a comforting hand on his arm 

"and she always will be" 

she replied glancing over to the photo of Karen on the bedside table. 

"Come on, it's time to go say goodbye" 

she whispered heading in the direction of the door as he shook his head 

"no, it's time to say goodnight" 

he turned back to glance at the corner of the room, where she smiled at him and nodded before mouthing the words 'I love you' he closed his eyes momentarily and when he opened them again she was gone.
