So this just an idea that popped into my head. I hope you enjoy it! As usual I don't own anyhting or anyone! I'm just having some fun!
Karen was sat on the sofa in her London home, Dan was pottering around ordering a Chinese Takeaway for himself, Beth and various other-members of the Dancing On Ice Professionals that seemed to be gathering in Karen's house this morning. Although, as the youngsters chilled in the kitchen together, Karen just wanted to curl-up on the sofa and watch the tele. She could hear Dan in the distance. "Takeaway's here!" He called to everyone, paying the man at the door before taking the takeaway into the kitchen.
Before Karen knew-it, Dan had appeared in the living-room. "Do you want some Chinese Kaz?!" He asked her kindly. "No I'm okay thank-you." She told-him politely, but Dan could tell that something was up. "Are you okay?!" He asked her, walking-over to the sofa where Karen was sat. "Just thinking....." Karen trailed-off. "About what?!" Dan asked as he sat himself down next to Karen. Karen looked-at Dan and weakly smiled at him. "You're gonna think I'm silly." She said sweetly. "No I'm not." Dan chuckled. "Now tell me!" He said insistently, so Karen opened-up to her old-friend. "I was thinking about Chris....." She trailed-off sadly and Dan sighed. "Awww Kaz why would I think that's silly ey?!" Dan asked-her. "I dunno.....I miss him Dan.....More than ever." Karen said as a tear fell from her eyes and Dan wrapped his arms around-her. "Oh Kaz I know you do. But you know that it's important for him to see his boys don't you darlin'?!" Dan double-checked with Karen and she nodded against his chest. "Oh I know that Dan. And I'd never stop him from seeing his sons, he misses them when he's in the UK as much as I am missing him right-now." Karen told Dan as she cried slightly into his t-shirt.
"Awww Kaz don't cry." Dan soothed her as he rubbed her back comfortingly whilst Karen pulled herself together. "Don't you worry about-me Dan. You go and have some fun with the guys out-there!" She told him as she gently pushed him away from her, realising that he had ditched the group of ice-skating friends to come and chat to her. "No I'm not leaving you until I know that you're happy Kaz. Besides, they're all just eating Chinese, they won't even notice that I've gone." Dan told-Karen sweetly, and she recognised that he had put himself-out for her and smiled at him gratefully. "Thank-You Dan." She told-him. "That's quite alright. And ya know what Kaz? Chris will be back-here before you even know-it. And then you can show-him how much you have missed-him." Dan told-her kindly and Karen agreed with him by nodding in response. "I know that Dan. Thanks for the chat." Karen thanked Dan appreciatively and he hugged her once-more before he then headed back into the kitchen.
Karen then decided that she would FaceTime Chris quickly. Maybe that would make her feel better. It took Chris a while to pick-up, which Karen soon realised was because it was the very-early hours of the morning in America, and Chris was probably asleep, and she had jsut woken-it-up.
"Hey You." Chris said tiredly and croakily as he sat-up himself-up in his bed.
"Hiya Sweetheart. Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up. What time is it over there?!" Karen asked-him through the little-screen.
"About 3 in the morning.....But it doesn't matter. Are you okay?!" Chris asked her, noticing the slight red-marks around her eyes from where she had been crying, even through an IPad Screen.
"I am now. I just needed to see your face and hear you voice." Karen told Chris sweetly.
"Awww were you missing me?!" Chris asked-her with a cute-smile on his face.
"Yes I was. More than anything in the world. I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for Dan & FaceTime." Karen replied which made Chris frown.
"I'm Sorry.....Distance sucks doesn't it?!" He told Karen sadly.
"Oh baby don't apologise. And yes it does suck, but I understand that you need to see your boys Chris." Karen told-him with a small-smile.
"Yeah well I've seen them now maybe I could....." Chris began but he was cut-off half-way through by Karen.
"NO! No way Chris. I will not let you do that." Karen told-him seriously.
"Do what? You don't even know what I was gonna say?!" Chris argued.
"Yes I do. You were gonna suggest that you should come-home early. Well no-way is that gonna happen Mister Dean. You need to spend some quality time with your two sons who have missed their Dad just as much as I am missing you right-now. Plus you should never trust an idea that you've had at 3 in the morning!" Karen said, she began seriously, but she couldn't be firm with him for long and ended the sentence with a cheeky-little-smile on her face.
"Okay you're right." Chris told Karen. "But I miss you too. And I can't wait to come-home and give you a massive-hug and a kiss!" Chris told Karen sweetly and she smiled at him.
"I'm always right Chris. You should have learnt that by now even if you have learnt nothing else. And me too, I miss having our cuddles on the sofa. No-One gives as good cuddles as you do Christopher Dean. Not even Dan, and his come pretty darn close I have to say." Karen told Chris cheekily and he smiled at her before he then let out a massive-yawn. "You look exhausted sweetheart, I'll let you go back to sleep." Karen said to Chris.
"Hmmm I won't argue with that one Kaz. FaceTime me later-on okay? I'll be up early anyway because I'm picking the boys up at 9:30. I Love You." Chris told Karen and she nodded at him through the screen.
"Okay Gorgeous I will do. Have a nice sleep. And I love you too. Goodnight Sweetheart." Karen told-him.
"Night." Chris said, lying back-down into his bed before he then switched-off the face-time conversation to try and go back to sleep.
When Dan heard the FaceTime Conversation come to an end, he peered his head around the living-room. "Everything alright then?!" He asked-her with a baby-faced concerned-look, he looked like such a little-boy sometimes and Karen just smiled at him. He was like a son to her.
"Everything's Fine Yeah." Karen told Dan with a smile.
"Good. Right best get back to the guys. Come and join-us if you want to." Dan said before he then headed back towards the kitchen.
*A Couple Of Minutes Later.*
Karen was just about to get-up to go and see the guys when Dan re-entered the room with a plate of Chinese for Karen and another-plate for himself. "A Chinese takeaway for two. Hows about that then?! Impressed with my skills as an expert-Waiter?!" Dan asked Karen cheekily as he handed her over the plate of Chinese and then sat-himself down next to her. And Karen just smiled at him. "You're crackers dya know that?!" Karen replied with a giggle as they then both dug into their takeaways together.
Don't Even Ask why they were having Chinese Takeaways in the morning! Because not even I know myself! I hope you liked-that!
