This is just a fic. Not ment to be offensive or upset anyone :) in this Karen Is 38 Jayne is 40 Chris is 39 and single <3
"Chris have you seen Karen!" Jayne yelled loudly. Chris was on the other side off the rink teaching a very complicated dance routine to the male professionals.
"No, sorry Jayne, I don't know where she's got to...."
Suddenly Jayne realised Karen may have come in through the back door and just simply be in her dressing room. She skated of the ice put the guards on her skates and walked over to Karens dressing room. As she got nearer she could hear muffled sobs coming from the dressing room. "Karen sweety its me, can I come in?" There was no response so Jayne slid open the door and walked in.
Karen was sitting On the couch crying her eyes out. Jayne sat down next to her and tried to comfort her. "Karen babe what's up?" Jayne questioned her best friend for the second time. This time Karen managed to answer between sobs. " It's...it's..Stephen, he left me this morning." Karen buried her head into Janes shoulder and continued crying. There marriage had been bad for a while. First Stephen would knock Karen about and leave in a terrible rage. Then he started seeing another woman behind Karens back and everyday got more aggressive with Karen.
More?
Jayne was just about to comfort karen and tell her how Stephen wasn't worth it when there was another knock at the door. Janye got up and opened the door. Chris stood there on the other side ,ice skates on, wondering what was keeping Jayne. Jayne informed Chris in no more than a whisper about Karens marraige crisis. Chris nodded along feeling terrible. He was sorry for Karens marriage breaking down yet he couldn't help seeing a glimmer of hope that she might fall for him again like she did 20 years ago. Chris quickly changed his facial expression realising it may have look like he was smiling. Jayne eyed him suspisiously.
Chris moved in to the room a sat down on the sofa next to Karen. Karen looked up acnologing him arrival and gave him a very weak smile...
1month later... <3
Karen knew it was strange. Almost a month had passed and she was feeling differently towards Chris. It was exactly like how she had felt 20 years ago. She skated elegantly out into the centre of the rink joining Jayne (Chris was lacing his skates on the side.) "Jayne...I need to talk to you after the training session, it's important!" Karen said quietly. "Sure Kaz what is it?" The second Jayne hand asked the all important question Chris began to skate onto the ice. "It er doesn't matter, tell you later." Karen said quickly.
Chris skated over to the girls. His eyes lingered on Karen, eyeing her beautiful curves sparkling eyes and sweet smile. He perhaps looked at her for too long as it seemed Jayne had become aware of his wandering eye. " Should we get on with the routine then?" Karen said breaking the silence.
They all did a lap around the rink as a brief warm up before working on tricky lifts. Chris explained a very hard lift and tried it with Jayne, however Jayne couldn't get into the right position for it to work. "Why don't you try and lift Karen?" Jayne said.
"Ok." Said Chris, trying to sound casual yet sounding overly happy and egar. Karen nodded in agreement and skated towards Chris. He lifted her high up into the air. Chris could tell something was wrong. His hand was slipping... Karen was slipping... Karen fell to the floor. Chris looked down in shock. He crouched by Karen tears streaming down his face. Jayne skated over quickly scared for her best friends life. It all happened too fast.
Karen was sent to the hospital in an ambulance. Chris and Jayne were sitting in the back with the unconcious Karen. When they got to the hospital Karen was rushed away to be checked over. Chris sat down next to Jayne. He had to tell someone "I love her!!!" Chris blurted out all of a sudden. A surprised Jayne turned around to look him full on in the face. "Christopher Dean! She's only just split from her marriage. Jayne said.
"Look Jayne I can't hide my feelings forever I-" At that exact moment a nurse walked out towards them. "Are you Chris and Jayne?" the nurse asked.
"Yes!" They replied in unison.
"Ms Barber has gained consciousness. She luckily has no major injuries just cuts and bruises and she wishes to see both of you."
"Thank God!" Jayne said.
"Can I go in first Jayne." Chris pleaded.
"Ok I'll go in after." Jayne agreed.
"Thanks Jayne your a star." Chris said.
Chris raced towards Karens door ready to see her pretty face again. He opened the door and saw Karen lying on the bed looking right as rain. "Karen darling, I'm so sorry."
"Don't worry Chris, it wasn't your fault." Karen said with a warm smile
"You scared me so much." Chris said. He leaned towards her Karen wrapped her arms around his neck. Chris kissed her pasionately and they just stayed there sharing that incredible moment together, both of them happier than ever.
Is this getting boring? Should I do more?
"Karen Barber I love you." Chris said. He couldn't believe all that had happened because of one mistake.
"I love you too Chris, always and forever." Karen replied kissing him again
Back outside Karens room Jayne was pacing up and down. She simply couldn't understand what on earth was taking Chris so long. Jayne took a couple of steps towards the door and opened it and stared at Chris and Karen kissing (they quite clearly hadn't noticed Jaynes arrival.) "Oh I see." Jayne said with the air of someone who quite clearly didn't see. "Jayne erm how nice of you to pop in...." Chris said breaking away from Karen. "That would have been very awkward if you hadnt of told me earlier..." Said Jayne.
Karen glanced at Chris slightly confused. "Earlier..... She said with intrest."
"Kaz I've loved you for a long while, after we decided we could only be friends 20 years ago we became more like brother and sisters. But the truth is I never did stop loving you." Karen beamed at Chris ane lent over to hug him. "I love you too silly." She said
Jayne smiled at her two best friends. She was really happy for them.

The news had quickly spread that Karen Barber and Christopher Dean were something more than 'close friends' the past few days had been hectic for both of them. Karen was out of the hospital and back on the rink.
1 week later...
Karen what's that on your arm!" Chris said, his tone was more worried than angry.
"Nothing babe it's just a bruise...." Karen said quickly covering up her arm with her sleeve. One thing about knowing Karen for virtually all of his life meant that Chris could easily detect when she was lying. "Kaz is there something your not telling me." Chris looked her directly in the eyes.
"It's Stephen, Chris. Karen said looking down. He bruised my arm. After I dropped the girls off at his house he grabbed me and slammed me agains the door." Tears were falling down Karens face.
"I'll kill him I swear, how dare he touch you Kaz after all he did." Chris's eyes were filling with tears. They both looked at each other unsure what to say or do. "At least we have each other." Karen said wiping a tear from her eye. Chris gently put his arms round her hugging her. Karen just sobbed on his shoulder until she fell asleep with exhaustion.

Much to Karens upset the story about her bruised arm had quickly spread. Jayne, The Dancing On Ice cast and crew all knew and somehow the press had found out!
Karen looked at the paper and the front page said 'Barbers Bruising Ex!' Along with a picture of Karen. Straight away Karen reconginesd the picture. It was from yesterday when her and Chris were walking back from lunch. The press had obviously spotted the bruised arm and put to and to together about Stephen. Well it wasn't exactly hard as Stephen was well known for being a bully. "Chris come and look at the paper." Karen said. Her voice was shaking. Chris came downstairs picked up the paper and began to read. "It serves him right!" Chris said In a definite tone
"Chris, don't you see! This is just going to make things worse!" Karen said taking the paper from Chris and shoving it straight into the bin. "I'm going round to his house now to set him straight, ok?"
"Ok babe but be carful." Chris said Karen walked out of the door and got into her car. Stephen didn't live too far away so the journey was short. When Karen arrived at Stephens house she knocked briskly at the door. The door swung open and there stood Stephen... "Well well well, Karen Barber, come crawling back have we?" Stephen said in his usual unpleasant tone. "No actually Stephen I wanted to discuss the story on the paper." Karen said being as polite as she would let herself. "Come in then babe." Stephen replied. Karen shuddered as he called her babe. She couldn't stand it.
Karen walked in and they briefly discussed the paper story. "Right then I better go, this was only a flying visit." Karen said.
"Your not going anywhere babe!" Stephen grabbed Karen tightly around the waist. Karen struggled against the force of him and tried to run. That's when it happened. Stephen threw her heavily to the floor threatening her with the carving knife. Karen was stuck there, lying in the corner scared for her life....
