Dancing on Ice Fanfiction

It's not that great but it's the first fic I ever wrote I came across it the other day when I was sorting through my work and thought I'd put it on here. And yes like most of my other fics there it is about babies... I hope it isn't a bit boring! (Also if anyone has any ideas for a better title then comment below I don't really know if the one at the moment goes much with the fic and is a bit dramatic, thanks for reading) xxx

“Chris!” Karen said in a very worried voice as she walked over to the table where he was sitting “can we sit down and talk please there’s something you need to know?” “Of course we can darling, what’s up?” “I have something to tell you, I have been trying to tell you for weeks now but didn’t know how to ... I still don’t, I’m scared that if I tell you our relationship will break ...” Chris just looked at Karen confused he didn’t know what she was talking about “Karen darling what are you talking about ... you are worrying me”.

“I’m... I’m...” “Karen can you please just tell me babe?” Karen unable to find the right words to say was getting frustrated with herself and burst into tears as she passed Chris a pregnancy scan. Chris was totally surprised when he looked at the scan “Is this what I think it is?” “Yes...I’m 4 and a half months gone, I found out a few weeks ago, I didn’t know how to tell you, when too, I was thinking what if...” Chris walked over to Karen he gently wiped the tears off her face and wrapped his arms around her “you should have just told me sweetheart ... I can’t believe it we are having a baby I’m so happy there was no need for you to be scared to tell me you silly thing” he said laughing and kissing the top of her head.

It had been a very stressful day for Karen so after they had, had dinner Chris suggested that they snuggle up on the sofa and watch a film. They cuddled up together on the sofa Chris took hold of Karen’s hands held them tightly not ever going to let go he then placed both of their hands on top of their babies bump whilst stroking Karen’s hands. As he did this Karen turned her head up to Chris and smiled at him lovingly. The comforting of Chris stroking Karen and keeping her warm as he cuddled her made her feel safe and loved and it wasn’t long before Karen had fallen asleep, he looked down at her face and said to himself “You are one very lucky man Christopher Dean, one very, very lucky man” he then kissed her gently on the forehead as he continued to comfort her.

Once the film had finished Chris decided to watch something he had put on catch up for a little while as Karen slept peacefully in his arms. It wasn’t long after and Chris decided it was time for them to go up trying not to wake his sleeping ice princess he wrapped her up in the blanket in his arms and carried her carefully up to their room. He pulled back their silky bed covers and placed her carefully in the middle of the bed. Chris then climbed into bed snuggling up right next to her, as he did this Karen stirred a little so he placed his arm around Karen and hands on her stomach again stroking it which sent her back to sleeping peacefully.

Early the next morning Chris lay in bed with his arms still wrapped tightly around Karen and the bump, Chris just stared at her beautiful face as she was sleeping with the biggest smile on his own face. It was the biggest smile you had ever seen his mind was just filled of all the exciting things that were going to be happening in the next few months. They weren’t just having a baby but were getting married too. An hour later and Karen woke she could feel Chris’s warm smooth hands on her stomach; she placed her hands on top of his then turned and kissed him passionately. For the next 5 minutes they just gazed into one another’s eyes.

After speaking about the baby and wedding for a while they decided it was time to get up as they had to be at the rink for 8:30(am). Chris went straight downstairs put the kettle on and read the paper while Karen got ready. For the last few weeks since Karen had known she was pregnant she had been wearing clothes that weren’t as tight fitting as she usually would to hide the bump as she didn’t know how to tell Chris. It hadn’t been too bad though as there hadn’t been much of a bump there it just looked like she’d put on a little bit of weight but, it was starting to get hard as the bump had got rather big within the last 2 and half weeks yet perfectly formed. Now that she had told Chris she felt that today was the day the bump should be shown to the public’s eye. They were only going to work but it took Karen a long time to get ready as she wanted to look just perfect, nearly two hours later and she was finally ready and Chris was waiting for her. She wore a close fitting top that showed the bump off perfectly with a pair of tracky bottoms.

Karen then went downstairs and walked into the kitchen where Chris was waiting, before leaving the house they shared another very passionate kiss. On the way Karen hardly said a word Chris could see that she was nervous about showing the bump off for the first time, her nerves showed the closer they got to work. When they arrived before getting out the car Chris put his hand on Karen’s then reassured her that everything was going to be ok. He then stroked the bump and kissed Karen on the cheek one last time before getting out of the car.

They walked hand in hand into the studio where Jayne and some of the pro’s were waiting with their celebrity partners, they could both hear them all chatting before walking into the training rink. As they walked in still hand in hand there was a sharp and sudden silence everyone just turned around and looked at Karen you could see by their faces they were all quite surprised.

It was now two months later, Karen was now 6 months into her pregnancy and starting to get very stressed out and frustrated with it. Everything she ate she just brought back up, she couldn’t sleep properly at night and was only getting 2-3 hours of sleep, this then made her very impatient and moody very everyone, she was just crying all the time and their wedding was only a fortnight away.

Today Karen was the worst she had ever been she had been up all night and was very tired it wasn’t even mid day and she had already thrown up 5 times with morning sickness which made things even worse. The hormones were really kicking in now and the slightest little things were making Karen very angry. In the next hour something happened that nobody expected, Chris went over to Karen and said something which made her just totally lose it. She was in a right state shouting and hitting Chris whilst a stream of tears trickled down her face. Chris tried to calm her down he was worried she might do something stupid that would harm the baby but as soon as he went to cuddle her she just yelled at him “I don’t want you near me ... go away” and just pushed him off her.

Chris thought that the best thing to do at this point was to do as she said. He knew she didn’t really mean what she had just said, so he just left her to have some time to herself to calm down.

It was now half an hour after, Karen had calmed down and felt awful for what she had said to Chris as this went through her mind Chris walked back into the rink. They both saw each other Karen rushed over to Chris as he stood there with his arms out ready to wrap around and comfort her. Karen who was very emotional at this point said to Chris “I’m sorry” as they stood by the side of the rink. “Don’t worry darling ... I know you’re not feeling yourself at the moment ... No matter what you say I will always love you”. While continuing to share a romantic cuddle Chris thought that it would be a good idea to take Karen home as he could see she was exhausted and she really needed to get some sleep.

Chris went off to find Jayne to tell her that he was going to take Karen home and they would come back at 5pm. He knew he had made the right decision, as soon as they got in the car Karen was nearly asleep luckily they only lived 10 minutes away from the studios so he could get her home quick. Once they were home Chris opened the door for Karen while he was bringing all their stuff in from the car, she went straight into the living room and just lay on the sofa. Even though Karen was finding it hard to keep her eyes open she found it very hard to sleep and when she did get to sleep she would wake 20 minutes later. They had been home a couple of hours now and Karen still was having trouble sleeping Chris suggested that she went up to bed instead of trying to sleep on the sofa, but she didn’t want to go up on her own so Chris said that he would go up and sit with her for a bit. They turned everything off downstairs and Chris followed Karen up the stairs holding her behind just in case she fell.

Once up stairs Chris nested Karen into their silky duvet cover and surrounded her with cushions trying to make her as comfortable as he possibly could, he then closed the curtains turned off all the light leaving the landing one on to make it easier for her to sleep and lay on top of the cover next to her holding her hand and stroking her gently, it wasn’t long until Karen was finally asleep. Chris lay with her for ages and kept checking the time as they had to be back at work for 5pm. It was now 4: 35pm and Karen was still sleeping this was the longest she had slept for the past 3 weeks without waking up, Chris really didn’t want to wake her up so he got up carefully not to wake her, kissed her on the forehead and decided to leave her to sleep.
