It was 6 months on from when Karen had split up from her husband Stephen of 21 years after rumours she had been having an affair with boss and very close friend Christopher Dean during, the 5th series of Dancing on Ice they had now just finished the 6th series. Despite being true the pair denied all allegations they had, had an affair and decided to end the relationship.
The past 6 months had been very stressful for Karen it was now the end of March and there was only 2 weeks until the Easter holidays when the tour began it seemed a long enough time but there was a lot to be done in that time. This tour would be very different compared to the previous years as Karen was now a single parent and would be brining her two teenage daughters Emma 13 and Laura 15 as their father was now living in Canada and there was no one to look after the girls for the first 2 weeks they were on tour, and like most teenage girls that were sisters they was always a lot of bickering, bitching and arguing all the time. There had been a lot of this since their dad left and it was doing Karen's head in she was up to the point of losing it and couldn't cope much longer let alone bring them on tour.
Since Stephen had left there had been a big impact on the girls as Stephen had always been there for them more when Karen was working. It especially had a big impact on Laura who was in the middle of studying for her GCSE's she was not concentrating at school, her grades had gone right down, she was forever getting in trouble, had walked out of school a number of times, now wanted to leave school which Karen was not impressed by at all and she had got herself a boyfriend which meant she was out all the time not getting in until gone 11 at night which she had been grounded for several times but never listened. In this Emma was getting quite left out and both girls hated their mother and Karen could tell she was just breaking down all the time and the tour was not helping with things.
*11:45pm Monday night* Laura had just walked in with her boyfriend all loved up and his hands all over her body which Karen was very unimpressed by and found it inappropriate at her age for a boy to be touching her like he was, Emma was in bed and asleep and Karen was waiting at the kitchen table trying to stay awake waiting for Laura to come in.
"Where have you been what time do you call this?" Karen shot questions at her not amused. Laura just turned and looked up at her boyfriend smirking at him.
"Right you can get your hands off of her now and go home" the teenage pair tried to share a passionate kiss "now or I will stop you from seeing each other" she added and nearly shouting.
"Whatever" Laura mumbled thinking her mum couldn't hear her. Karen got up stormed over to the pair of them separating them and pointing at the front door "mum ... you can't do that ... sorry about my mother just a ****ing bitch cos she's all lonely and not getting any love herself" Karen was quite hurt by this comment Laura had put across and this made her even more angry.
"Right get out now and don't you dare talk to me like that young lady who the hell do you think you are in the kitchen now" Karen was now shouting.
Laura sat down on the chair that Karen had been sitting on and Karen remained standing up shouting Laura it was now 00:20 in the morning and they were still at each other’s throats.
"So it's alright for you to go around sleeping with whoever you like be married at the same time and then tell dad it's all lies when I know damn well it ain't I'm not stupid" Karen had, had enough was tired and just wanted to go to sleep.
"I've had enough now you are grounded again for another month one day you will learn your lesson I hope... Can I have your phone?"
“No there is now way you're having my phone who do you think you are?"
"Your mother, now give me your phone"
"No"
"Just give me your phone now I'm tired and want to go to bed" Karen snatched the phone out of Laura's hands
"Yeah sure you're tired who you got up there tonight then?"
"Laura for god sakes there is no one up there I'm tired and I want to go to sleep ... and you have to be up early for school in the morning"
"No I don't I ain’t going"
"You bloody well are madam"
"I ain't so you can give me back my phone and get back to ****ing whoever you've got up there"
"How dare you talk to me like that ... you know what I give up believe what you want and take your bloody phone I don't care anymore."
*01:55am* Karen lay in bed looking at the wall in tears, Laura was finally asleep after texting her boyfriend the whole event that happened after he left and Emma had woke up walked in to see why her mum was crying.
"Mum... mum, are you ok?" Emma whispered going over to sit by her mum’s side Karen quickly wiped her eyes
"Yes fine baby ... what’s up?"
"I heard you crying and wanted to make sure you were ok"
"Oh I'm fine just had a bit of an argument with ya sister nothing to worry about ... come on come give mummy a cuddle and go back to sleep" Emma climbed in by her mum and Karen wrapped her arms around Emma holding her baby tightly until they were both asleep, however Karen woke up several time during the night as she couldn't sleep properly.
*6:45am* The alarm went off on Karen's phone it was time for everyone to get up and ready.
"Emma baby it's time to get ready for school" Emma got up and ready quite easily however getting Laura up was a totally different story and things were still rather tense between the pair from the argument a few hours previous Karen walked over to the window opening up the curtains.
"Come on time to get up" pulling the covers off Laura.
"Grrr don't you ever bloody listen I'm not going in today"
"Err you are so get up"
"I'm not so get out of my room now"
"You've till 7:30am and then I'm coming back so you better be ready"
"Whatever"
"And stop talking to me like that I dunno who you think you are"
"Ok ok now get out" Karen went to get ready for work then went back to get Laura up before going to get her breakfast.
"I said you were to be up and ready didn't I make that clear enough"
"I'm not going end of and you can't make me" Laura mumbled underneath the cover.
"Ah ... what was that mouthful?"
"I'm not going when will you get that into your stupid head"
"So what are you going to do all day then?"
“Just stay in bed eat and sleep" Karen looked at the time on her watch she had 20 minutes to have breakfast, get Emma to school and get to work.
"Just do what you want I've really had it up to here with you now it's your life you're throwing away not mine"
Karen walked out slamming the door shut and grabbing the phone on her way down the stairs to call the school to let them know Laura wasn't going to be in that day and once off the phone she sighed loudly walking into the kitchen where Emma started having ago at her which she could have done without.
"Laura she's ate all the cereal and the breads got all seeds in it"
"Well you will have to eat won't you"
"But I don't like it"
"Well tough I don't like a lot of things but I have to do it"
"But you were meant to be going shopping"
"I haven't had time you know I haven't I will go after work today ok"
"Well I'm not eating breakfast today then"
"Don't then you're be the one that’s hungry"
"Grrrrrr"
"Get your stuff together we are going in 5 minutes"
It was already doing Karen's head in this morning she had had enough of everyone moaning and shouting at her already she had no time to get breakfast so decided to have a quick coffee before leaving the house.
"Oooooooccccccchhhhhhhh" she screamed loudly and Emma came rushing in.
"What's happened mum?"
"Nothing go get in the car the keys are in my bag can you take my skates out and my bag and put them in the car please" she quickly ran her hand under the tap then found a bandage and wrapped it around her hand roughly before putting her Uggs on and getting in the car.
*8:57* Karen had dropped Emma off for school and now arrived at the studios 27 minutes late.
"You're nearly half hour late Karen ... that's the second time this week already and we are only on Tuesday" Chris said shouting across the ice.
"I know I know" she went over sat down and put her skates on then skated over to Jayne and Chris who were waiting on the rink for her ready to start training with the first of the celebrities ready to start on their new routine.
"Sorry I was late bad traffic this morning and had to get to the school too"
"Ok just don't be late again this week"
"I won't sorry" Jayne and Chris both knew that Karen had been finding it harder since Stephen had left but neither knew how bad it was.
*2 hours later* Jayne was working Laura and Colin while Chris skated over to Karen who had been just standing in her own little world at the side of the rink paying no attention at all, all morning.
"Are you going to tell me what’s up then?" Karen broke down in tears instantly
"Do you want to have a chat in my office?" Karen stared down at the ice and nodded.
“Go on I will meet you there in a minute" Chris skated over to Jayne before getting off the ice to speak to Karen.
"I'm just going to have a word with Karen she's been paying no attention all morning and just broke down in tears so you know where I am if you need me"
"Ok" Chris took his skates off and went to his office where he found Karen sitting on the floor in the corner in tears.
"Right what's been going on"
"Nothing ... its fine ... I'm fine it’s just hormones that's all"
"Well this isn't like you to act like this ... has something happened at home?"
"Yes ... but I'm fine honestly it doesn't matter"
"Well it does if it's putting and impact on your work then we need to sort it out and now just tell me what it is Karen and come and sit on my chair I'm not talking to you sitting down there" Chris spoke quite seriously to her sitting on the edge of the desk facing the big cushiony chair that Karen got up and sat in.
"Tell me everything that has happened"
"Do you know how much the girls are stressing me out at the moment ... and everything has just got to me this morning I've had enough they just don't respect me at all anymore all they do is shout and argue with me ... I've got Laura at home refusing to go to school and Emma having ago at me because I haven't had time to go shopping this week"
"So what's been going on between you and Laura then why she not wanting to go to school"
"I dunno she has just given up totally ... her grades have gone down, she’s forever getting in trouble and ex-spelled for walking out, and she's also got this new boyfriend who's always got his hands all over her she thinks I'm jealous that's the only reason I'm having ago at her, they are going out till gone 11 at night and she's got this thing into her head that I've got someone else in my life I'm not telling her about" Karen sat in the chair crying her eyes out and getting all wound up more and more by the minute.
"We ... then had a massive argument over it last night when she came strolling in with him at 11:45 and I couldn't sleep all night then this morning ... I just give up"
"So are you? And have you?"
"Am I what?"
"Jealous"
"No ... well maybe a bit ... but that isn’t why I have ago at her she's 15 and roaming the streets at nearly midnight I don't agree with that"
"And have you got someone else?"
"No ... honestly I swear ... I wish I did though ... anyway if I did she has no right to tell me what I can and can't do"
"What's this" Chris took hold of her hand that was wrapped in the bandage.
"I was rushing around this morning and missed the cup totally landed pouring the boiling water right over my hand... it's these kids they are driving me insane"
"Oh come here darling" he picked her up off the chair sat down in it with her on his lap she rested her head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around her tightly.
"Come on it's going to be alright ... listen we will go get that hand checked out and wrapped up properly and then why don't you take the rest of the day off to get some sleep, we will go do your shopping and then I will talk to Laura for you ... yeah"
"Thank you Chris" they sat in silence Chris holding Karen and stroking her back gently which made her feel even more tired and before Chris knew it she had fallen asleep in his arms.
"Chris ... what's going on? Is she ok?" Jayne asked wondering what was taking the pair so long.
He stood up and carried Karen down the corridor to her dressing room where he placed her on the bed and put a blanket over her then closing the door as quietly as he could so he didn't wake her.
"She's struggling more than we thought she was"
"What do you mean with the girls?"
"Yeah they are giving a real hard time at the moment by the sounds of it, Laura's at home refusing to go to school and also got this new boyfriend and not coming back until gone 11 at night its worrying Karen to death ... then Emma is constantly moaning and having a go at her for not having time to go shopping and silly stuff like that ... this morning with all the rushing around she was making a coffee totally missed the cup and poured boiling water over her hand and burnt it quite badly... If we don't help her soon god knows the state she's going to be in" Both Jayne and Chris were very worried and concerned about their best friend they had all know each other for over 30 years and didn't like to see each other upset or hurt.
"Oh bless her ... how's she feeling then"
"Well a mixture of emotions ... upset, angry, a bit jealous, hurt and tired I said she should have the rest of the day off and then I would go take her to do her shopping and talk to Laura for her ... you can manage on your own can't you Rob will be here with you he's coming in at 11:30(am)"
"Yeah I'll be fine you get that one in there sorted out and better ... why hasn't she told us before that they are giving her a hard time"
"I really don't know ... this is Karen we are talking about here you know what she's like"
That morning went quite fast Jayne and Chris had got back onto the training rink with celebrities and Karen was left to catch up on some sleep she had lost the previous night.
*11:45* Rob had arrived at the studios to help Jayne and Chris had gone to the dressing room to go and get Karen who had woken up now.
"You got everything?"
"Yep ... oh no my skates they are by the bench still"
"I'll go get them you put your coat on and meet me out there"
"Thank you" she whispered quietly.
*5 minutes later* "bye text you later ... ok " Jayne called over from the rink.
"Yeah ... ok" Karen replied quiet whisper again.
Chris took Karen's bags and put them in the back of his car then went round to her side and opened the door for her being the gentleman he was.
"Right no arguments here we are going home sorting that hand out properly, you can get changed, I will talk to Laura and then we will do your shopping"
"But..."
"There will be no buts"
"Ok" he placed one hand on the top of her leg they sat for a moment.
It didn't take long for them to arrive at Karen's house as she only lived a 10 minutes away when there was no traffic.
"Who's that?" a teenage voice came from the living room area.
"It's me you finally got up then" a reply came back Karen still not happy Laura was off.
"Yeah what you doing here?" just then Chris walked through the door with Karen's skates and bag.
"Oh I see you and him ... does Jayne know about this one?" Laura started rather childishly.
"No there is nothing going on how many times do I have to tell you"
"Laura there is nothing going on I swear me and your mum are just really close friends that's all ... I want a word with you anyway" they went into the living and sat down on the sofa while Karen had a quick shower and got changed.
"All I'm asking is you Just listen to what I have to say first please then you can say what you would like too" Chris spoke in a calm way one that Laura hadn't heard in a while as Karen was always shouting at her these days not that she liked too though.
"Ok"
"I don't think you or your sister realise how much of a hard time you're giving your mother ... I know what she has done wasn't right ... but there's no need to do what you're doing to her at the moment you're driving her insane and something serious is going to happen to her if you carry on like this... she burnt her hand quite badly this morning with the kettle worrying about everything and you two ... and before long things are going to get a lot worse than that" Laura was a little surprised when Chris told her this she didn't honestly realise what they were doing to their mother and Laura then realised that on a number of occasions over the last few weeks she had over stepped the mark.
"I didn't know things were that bad ... I ..."
"If you want to help your mum then go and get ready and go to school now there still a few hours left and we are going to go do the shopping so that your sister is happy too ... also your mum doesn't mind you having a boyfriend and you two being together but if you want to be together after 9 can you please come back here she has no problem with that but doesn't want you out on the streets after 9pm it worries her to death"
"Ok" with that Laura got up and got ready for school.
Nearly half hour later Laura was upstairs getting ready for school, Karen had finally decided what she was going to wear deciding on a tight black skirt a couple of inches above the knee that fitted her figure perfectly, black tights, a white blouse that had puffy short sleeves and black heels did have quite a heel on them. You wouldn't have thought she was doing the weekly shopping how long it took her to get dressed once ready she went down into the kitchen to find Chris who had made them both a coffee sitting at the table waiting for her.
"Where's Laura?"
"She getting ready for school"
"What? how have you managed that one I'm a totally crap parent I have to get someone else to come and talk my daughter into going to school"
"You're not don't say things like that ... you look great by the way we're only going shopping though"
"I know I know a lady always likes to look her best though and make an effort" Chris got up from the chair he was sitting on and pointed to it.
"You come sit down here and I will sort that hand out for you" Karen sat down on the chair and Chris cleaned her burn gently trying not to cause too much pain, put a fresh dressing on it then wrapped a new bandage around it neatly.
"You're good with first aid aren't you?"
"It's just something I've learnt over my years working on Dancing on Ice"
*12:35* They had just dropped Emma off at school and now on their way to Asda.
"I'll go get a trolley you start looking around"
"Ok take my bag will you and hook it on the trolley" a couple of minutes later and Chris had found Karen already looking in shoe aisle.
"Nope come on let's go do the shopping that we've come here for"
"Karen if you want them put them in the trolley I will treat you too them you deserve them what you've gone through in the last 6 months"
"Really... no I couldn't do that"
"Yes you can" Karen had picked up a pair of red heels several inches high she bent down to try them on. Chris put his hands on her waist pulling her on down onto his lap as she was buckling the shoe up as she was finding it a little difficult to put them on wearing the skirt making sure she wasn't flashing to the world at the same time and there was only one small little stall thing there which Chris was sat on.
*2 hours later* Back at the house unloading the shopping from Chris' car and putting it away.
"All done now ... they can't moan that there isn't any food in the house after the amount I've spent" she said putting the last of the items away in the cupboard.
Karen was lying down on the sofa while Chris was in the kitchen doing some of the paper work for Dancing On Ice, he went in to Join Karen sitting down picking her feet up and placing them back down on his lap massaging them gently.
"You finished the paperwork?"
"No just having a break from it ... there's so much with all the insurance stuff and that" Karen sat up shuffled over to Chris taking him by surprise as she straddled across his lap then placing a soft kiss on his lips.
"Karen what are you doing?"
"I love you Christopher Dean"
"Karen you're very vunable at the moment are you sure you're sure about this"
"Yes ... I want to spend the rest of my life with you ... you're brilliant with the girls and they both really like you and you make me feel special and loved and after all your help today I want to show my thanks back and that I appreciated it ... Laura is at Lucy's house till 8:45 and Emma is out with her boyfriend until 9 so we have the house to ourselves now let me show you my appreciation."
"Come with me" Karen stood up pulling Chris up with her and led the way up to her room holding onto his hand the whole time.
"Wow you've decorated since the last time you brought me in here ... I like it ... when did you do this?"
"I done just after Stephen left he never liked all the viols stuff and candles"
"You've done a good job of it"
"Thank you" theroom was now a romantic dark purple, with little lights hanging from the tops around the four poster bed that was king sized, there was viols, and cushions’ everywhere and candles it had turned into a very romantic room. Karen pushed Chris over to the bed and pushed him onto the bed straddled across him placing kiss's on his lips as he began to undo the buttons on her blouse.
*Hour later* There was an hour of fun in the bedroom both enjoying themselves and this had really cheered Karen up.
"Where you going?"
"I've got to go finish the paperwork remember"
"No ... don't go"
"Karen ... it's not like I'm actually going yet but I've got to finish the paperwork"
"Will you stay here tonight? ... Please"
"Will the girl mind?"
"No they will be fine about it ... anyway it’s not up to them who stays in this house ... please ... I love you"
"If it makes you happy then I will"
"Thank you"
"Why don't you go have a nice hot bath then get back in bed try get some more sleep and I will bring you up something to eat in a bit"
"Thank you"
"Give me some blankets so I can make the bed up downstairs"
"Why? ... stay in here with me tonight ... I need a cuddle and maybe that will help me sleep"
"The girls will start asking questions though won't they"
"And"
"What are we going to say to them?"
"Honest here now please ... do you love me?"
"Yes of course I do"
"Do you want a relationship with me?"
"Yes"
"So can we say that we are officially going out"
"Well if that’s what you want then yes"
"Yes it is ... so that’s what we will tell the girls then"
“Ok ... "
"Well as you're staying the night now why don't you get back in bed for a little while longer"
"Good try but I really need to get this paperwork done ... go and have your bath and then I will come give you a cuddle once I've finished the paper work"
"Oh ... ok then ... and dinner can you just go down to the fish and chip shop and get it?"
“The press are going to have a field day with this you do know” Chris said as he walked out the room.
*Hour later* Karen had got out the bath put on her little short and t-shirt pj's and her baby pink fluffy bath robe over the top and had gone down to see how Chris was getting on.
"I thought you were tired?"
"I am"
"So why you not upstairs getting some rest then"
"Cos I need you ... I need you to make me feel safe" Chris grabbed Karen around the waist pulling her down onto his lap.
“Well I'm nearly done then will go and get the dinner ok"
"Ok "
“Go up and keep the bed warm and I will be up as soon as I've gone to get Laura and the dinner"

(Sorry somewhere in the previous bit I got Emma and Laura muddled up its Laura with the boyfriend I think I put Emma had a boyfriend half way through by mistake)
Emma looked a little confused when her mother’s car pulled up outside her friend’s house but Karen wasn’t in it and got in the passenger’s side with a confused expression on her face as Chris said hello.
“Where’s mum?” she asked looking down at her phone to see if she’d got any messages that she’d missed from her mum.
“She’s at home getting some rest so I said I’d pick you up”
“Why are you in mum’s car though?” Unlike Laura, Emma hadn’t a clue that Chris had been round Karen’s all day well Laura didn’t exactly know he’d been there all day either she just thought he was there for the morning.
“Mine’s still at the studios”
“Why is it there?... how did you get to mum’s?” Emma asked even more confused.
“I will explain when we get back that will be the easier way”
“Ok” Emma said wondering what this explanation was going to be.
“Is there anything you would like?” Chris asked as they pulled up outside a the local chippy
“No I’m alright thanks I we had pizza”
“Ok you sure… not even a fizzy drink”
“Ok then I’ll have a bottle of fanta please”
“Are you staying here or coming in?”
“I’ll just sit here”
“Ok I won’t be a long”
Considering the amount of people that were waiting inside for their food Chris was surprisingly only out of the chippy with his and Karen’s tea in his hands within 5 minutes and soon they were home. Karen had managed to get about half hour sleep before they’d come back and had just woke by the sound of the front door opening and the delicious smell of the fish and chips that had been freshly cooked. She stepped out of the warm covers picked her both robe up off the floor down beside the bed and wrapped it around her as she walked tiredly down the stairs.
“Hey baby… sorry I forgot to text you to let you know Chris would be picking you up… I feel asleep I hope it was alright with you?” she asked her youngest daughter still half asleep.
“Yeah it was fine”
“Did you have a good time at Lucy’s?”
“Yes”
“Good, good and school how was that?”
“Yes that was fine too… I have my Science exam tomorrow so I’m gounna go revise ok”
“Yes ok darling we are only down here if I you need me?”
After having a very brief and quick chat with her mother Emma went up to her bedroom and began to study for her Science exam the following day. Karen went into the kitchen and Chris had served up the fish and chips on two plates and had made Karen’s extra special by squirting the tomato ketchup on her chips into a heart shape which made her very impressed and smile. Chris loved Karen’s smile it was one of her best features it was the most perfect and most adorable smile he’d ever seen.
“I love you Karen Barber” he said passing the plate to her whilst getting her a knife and fork.
“I love you too… thank you for doing all of this but you know you didn’t have to put it on plates we could have just ate it out the paper… you know me I hate all the fancy stuff but thank you it shows you really care and that’s why I love you”
“Anything for you my baby”
They sat opposite each other at the very small circular dinner table in the kitchen and ate whilst chatting quietly about work and other random stuff that was far from the subject. Karen pulled her chair in closer to the table and moved her leg so it was wrapped around Chris’s he flashed a smile when he felt the warmth of her leg on his and she flashed a very cheeky flirtatious smile back.
“Do you want an early night once we’ve finished… we can leave the washing up till the morning and I can persuade the girls to watch a movie down here, in fact I think there is something on they want to watch anyway”
“Don’t you think we should tell the girls about us first though?”
“Ok we will tell them when Laura get’s back she shouldn’t be long now” Just as Karen said that a message popped up on the screen of her blackberry.
“It’s Alison… she said if it’s alright with me Laura can stay the night at Josh’s as they have teacher training day at school tomorrow” Karen had known Alison nearly as long as she’d known Chris and they were very good friends.
“Shall I let her?” she asked Chris.
“Well she’s your daughter it’s not my place to say.
“Of course it is from now on… I want this to be a proper relationship not just another silly fling”
“I know you do”
“I will let her she’s been through a lot lately and I think I’ve been a little harsh on her too… we will tell her tomorrow if that’s ok with you”
“Yes that’s fine”
Karen texted Alison back with her consent and then quickly text Laura too while Chris put the rubbish in the bin and took the plates over to the sink trying to start the washing up so they weren’t left with it in the morning.
“The next bit is telling Emma and getting Emma to relocate down here...”

“I will go and up and talk to her and think of something to get her to relocate down here on my way” Karen said getting up taking her plate over to the sink where Chris was and placing a soft kiss on his lips which lasted a few seconds.
“Ok… do you want me to pour you a glass of wine once I’ve finished washing up?”
“Yes please that would be great”
Karen climbed the stairs turning left when she reached the top and carried on walking down the hallway until she reached the small bedroom at the very end, she could hear the music playing quietly in the background while her daughter was revising Karen knocked gently on the door before entering. Emma was sat in the middle of the bed with several text and revision books around her with one in her hand highlighting the important bits she needed to remember for her exam. Karen went and sat next to her youngest daughter and pulling her into her closely hugging her lovingly and kissing her on the cheek.
“How do you fancy watching that movie that you wanted to watch tonight?”
“Yeah can I… I thought you said you wanted to watch something that clashed with it though?”
“Well I can watch it another day can’t I… I think there’s some popcorn in the cupboard downstairs too you can eat and you won’t have to share it with your sister as she staying at Josh’s tonight”
“Yay… are you watching it too?” Emma asked not bothered either way really.
“No… I’m still quite tiered but you can tell me all about it tomorrow at some point”
“Ok… what time is it?”
“Nearly half nine so you have 15 minutes to get ready for bed before it starts”
Karen went back down to the kitchen searching through the cupboards trying to remember where she’d put the popcorn that they’d brought earlier on while shopping, Chris was sat back at the table just finishing off the last bit of the paper work from earlier so it was done and out of the way – didn’t like it when stuff was started and not finished it just really annoyed him.
“So how did it go with Emma… have you actually told her about us yet?”
“Yeah it went fine she’s coming down to watch her movie in a minute I’m just finding the popcorn for her… and no I haven’t told her about us yet I thought we should tell her together”
“When we going to tell her?”
“In a minute when she comes down we will get her in here before the movie starts and tell her” Karen could hear the Emma’s footsteps as she walking down the stairs.
“Emma darling… come in here a minute please” Karen called from the kitchen.
“Yes mum” Karen looked at Chris giving him a look as to say it was fine for him to talk first.
“How would you feel if me and your mother were together in a relationship?” Chris asked a little worried and nervous at the same time what the answer was going to be.
“Fine… why are you together or something?”
“Yes I love your mother very, very much the most I’ve ever loved anyone before and I think that you and your sister are two of the nicest children I’ve ever meet too”
“Thank you” Emma replied with the cutest little smile ever just like her mothers.
“Are you sure you’re ok with us being together?” Karen asked her daughter.
“Yes… does Laura know?”
“Not at the moment we are going to tell her tomorrow when she get’s back so please don’t say anything to her yet”
“I won’t… can I go watch the movie now?”
“Yes” Chris answered first feeling like he was already Emma’s father and so proud he was.
Karen had finally found the popcorn and passed it to Emma who went off into the living room and sat down just as the movie had started snuggling up under her blanket that she’d brought down.
“Well that was quite easy” Karen said with another cheeky grin on her face as she walked over to Chris wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him again on the lips and he kissed her back.
Karen poked her head round the door and said her goodnight to Emma then closing the door behind her.
“Right not up to late young lady you have school tomorrow remember and turn all the lights off when you come up I’ve locked everything up… night, night my princess sleep well and tell me all about the movie tomorrow”
Both Karen and Chris walked very closely together up the stairs whispering romantically to one another as they did. Karen slipped her bath robe off hanging it up on the back of the bedroom door while Chris climbed into the four poster bed pulling the covers back for Karen. Their bodies moved close together with their arms and legs wrapped around each other’s and they just chatted quietly for a while adding flirtatious comments in every now and then, making each other laugh and sometimes Chris would say things joking and messing around with Karen that made her playfully and gently hit him back on the arm. This soon turned into Chris tickling her back and his large soft and smooth hands wondered up the inside of her top that fitted tightly and perfectly around her figure, stopping when he reached her chest area then pulling the top carefully off over her head and placing soft kissing up and down her neck and chest area. Karen just lay there enjoying the pleasure as he began to move the kisses down her body and stopping just below her belly button and moving his hands down, placing them on her waist slipping the silky short pyjama bottoms off her figure.

No I muddled them up on a previous bit so then when I wrote the next bit out I put at the top of it - (Sorry somewhere in the previous bit I got Emma and Laura muddled up its Laura with the boyfriend I think I put Emma had a boyfriend half way through by mistake)
Emma is the youngest and was at her friends and Laura is the oldest going out with Josh! xxx

Karen suddenly became quite fidgety as she slept turning side to side and felt the absence of Chris beside her and starting to panic when she woke to find he wasn’t no longer lying beside her and then panicking even more when she heard noises coming from downstairs. She checked the time on her blackberry it said 3am sleepily and quietly she walked down the stairs getting the fright of her life when the kitchen door opened.
“Bloody hell I nearly had a heart attack don’t do that to me ever again where did you think you were going you really scared me please don’t ever do that again” she said all of this without taking a breath and very seriously giving Chris a very stern look.
“Oh I’m sorry baby I didn’t realise you were going to wake up… you were happily asleep 5 minutes ago I just came to get some water” Chris replied softly wrapping his warm arms around her cold body and kissing her lips passionately.
“Just don’t do it again”
“I won’t I promise” he said picking her up in his arms and carrying her up the stairs walking quietly so they didn’t wake Emma.
When they got back to Karen’s room he climbed back into the bed still with her in his arms cradling her like she was a tiny baby and it made Karen feel so safe and loved. Karen lay very closely to Chris with her head on his chest and his chin was resting gently on her head, with his arms around her tiny figure as he pulled the covers back over them tucking them around Karen.
“Go back to sleep baby I can see you’re very tiered still and it’s still very early” he stroked her head gently comforting her as she slowly fell asleep again.
Emma woke earlier than she usually would that morning as she was going round to Lucy’s before they went to school so they could revise once more and go over the stuff they needed to for their exam. By 7:40am Emma was ready and had, had breakfast and her mum and Chris were still fast asleep when she walked past the half open door just before she left the house.
Karen lay still snuggled into Chris and his arms still around her tiny little figure they had been like this for the last few hours neither of them knew they had over slept and neither of them had heard their phones go off either. Jayne had now given up trying to phone them and began to choreograph the professional routine for that week but finding it very hard without having Chris there as she wasn’t able to run through her parts properly – she hadn’t clicked on that Karen and Chris were together and just thought it was coincidence they were both late.
Laura came through the door just after 9am expecting to have the house to her-self to have a relaxing day watching TV and chatting to her friends across Facebook. She wasn’t yet aware that her mum and Chris were still asleep in the same bed she didn’t even know Chris had stayed the night this wasn’t until she went up to get her laptop and noticed her mother still sleeping but still hadn’t seen Chris. And she got the biggest shock of her life when she walked in the room to find Chris by the side of Karen however cute they did look she was so angry with her mum though.
“Mum wake up it’s ten past nine” Laura said loudly and sternly.
Karen’s heart started to race faster and faster as they hadn’t yet told Laura about their new relationship.
“What the hell are you doing I can’t believe you lied to me all this time”
“I haven’t been lying to you and don’t you dare call me your own mother a liar”
“You swore the other night you weren’t seeing anyone… or is this just another one of your flings? What sob story did you use this time because you’re that desperate for some action in the bedroom?” Laura was absolutely fuming with her mother and that made Karen scared of what her reaction would be when she told her they were in a relationship.
“Laura I swear there has been nothing going on between us and this is the first time we’ve slept together since the affair and now we’re back in a relationship… we were going to tell you yesterday but you were out”
“I love how you just think you can move on with no care in the World… after what you done to dad you should be ashamed of yourself… you’re just a selfish slag who only thinks about herself”
“Anyone would think I’d murdered your dad the way you make it sound… get to your room now I’ve had enough of your attitude already I’m not be contradicted to by my own daughter who I sleep with”
“Well I’m moving out”
“Oh don’t be so bloody stupid… where the hell are you going to live?”
“With Josh”
“I’m sure Alison is going to want a spoilt teenager with a serious attitude problem living with her”
“She’s a lot better parent than you’ve ever been at least she can keep her knickers on every time a bloke walks past her” Karen was now in tears and very hurt her daughter’s comments.
“Laura what happened to the conversation we had yesterday now do as your told and go to your room that is no way to speak to your mother she does everything for you and tries her best in every way to make you and your sister happy”

“That went well didn’t it?!” Chris asked after a few seconds silence turning to kiss Karen on the lips but she just burst into tears.
“Aw… What’s wrong baby?” he said asking again.
“Whatever I do I can’t do anything right… and there is always either one of them unhappy every time I do something I wish sometimes they’d just gone to live with Stephen it would be so much easier for everyone, I know they hate living with me and hate me for what I’ve done and will never forgive me but I think I’ve had enough punishment from them both now over the last 6 months… they’ve either not been talking to me, shouting and blaming me for everything that goes wrong and saying I’m a bad parent” she sobbed loudly into his warm chest.
“What have I said to you before don’t say that please you’re the best parent ever and brilliant to the girls… and don’t blame yourself either it takes two for an affair to happen and I was the one that lead you on and I understand if that’s why the girls don’t want us to be in a relationship now”
“It’s not your fault either I could have said no couldn’t I”
“Well just don’t put yourself down don’t listen to them you’re a brilliant mother I don’t know any other parent who would do what you do and go out of your way to make them happy”
“Chris I’m a bad parent they hate… my own daughter thinks I’m a slag what does that say about me”
“You’re just being paranoid don’t listen to her she’s just angry and will come round to it soon”
“Why is it always Laura that has a problem and kicks up a big fuss with everything that I do” Karen was becoming very fidgety and frustrated with herself now and letting all her emotions out on Chris who was comforting her.
“Because she cares about you that’s why… Like you care about her she’s just angry with you like you were with her when she was coming in at midnight with Josh” Chris said reassuring her.
“But she’s my little girl I don’t want anything happening to her”
“Yeah and you’re her mother she doesn’t want anything happening to you”
“And what does she think is going to exactly happen to me I’m with you” she said so sweetly and innocently.
“I don’t know… it must be hard for her though well both of them with all this change and not seeing their father for 6 months have they even heard from him?”
“I don’t want them having anything to with him and I’ve told him that and I Know what I said before about them living with him but I couldn’t have them being that far apart from me”
“I’m not on his side but he hasn’t actually done anything wrong so I think you should at least let him stay in contact with them and maybe then they might start cooperating with you”
“And do you know how much trouble that will be causing?... they will start saying how I’ve been such a bad mother to them (she said in a sarcastic and exaggerated tone of voice) and about us being together and then he will want to speak to me”
They lay together for a little while longer with Karen safely in Chris’ toned and muscular arms before realising they were now over an hour late for work.
“Come on I think we’d better get up… Jayne isn’t going to be very happy we were meant to be at the studios over an hour ago” Chris whispered softly into her ear and she lifted her head tilting it so he could kiss her lips.
Knowing that they were very late for work Karen had managed to get dressed and ready quite quickly as she’d usually be up at 6am and only just be able to make it for at 8:30am.
She put on the first thing she could find as they didn’t have time for to be mucking around even though she did change between a pair of leggings and joggers about 5 times finally settling on the leggings after asking for Chris’ opinion, with a white vest top a little cardigan and a pair of black Uggs. By 10 they had left the house both eating breakfast on the way but and they’d soon be eating lunch. Luckily Karen’ house wasn’t far from the studios and they made it there just before half past.
They both walked in together and Jayne was working with the pro’s which she had started their routine for that week’s opening performance on Sunday, both hoping no one had suspected a thing Chris forgetting that he’d left his car there overnight which did make Jayne slightly suspicion of something going on but was going to wait until later to find out what they’d been playing at.
“We all know why you two are late” one of the pro’s joked around but didn’t actually realise they had spent the night together.
“Oh nice of you to turn up you’re nearly 2 hours late this had better be good I will deal with you later” Jayne turned around telling them off like she was a school teacher.
“Do you think anyone has suspected anything?” Karen whispered worriedly to Chris as they sat on in the seating area around the training rink to put their skates on.
“I don’t know I think Jayne does but I’m not sure”
“Christopher Dean I don’t know how I’m going to be able to keep my eyes and hands off your body until later” came a flirtatious comment from the little northerner who had now finished doing her skates up and was just waiting for Chris who was almost done.
“Meet me out the back at the beginning of the lunch break but don’t tell anyone”
It wasn’t long after they’d finally got on the ice and they were off again for the hour long lunch break Chris went straight round the back pretending to be on the phone to someone and then a couple of minutes later Karen put both her skate guards on the bottom on the blades of her skates and then joined Chris.
“Finally I get you all to myself again” Chris whispered seductively into Karen’ ear as he leant against the wall of the building outside pulling her into him his arms around her waist and hers around his neck.
“Has anyone seen or know where Karen and Chris have gone?” Jayne asked interrupting their lunch break.
“Yeah… well I saw Chris I think he went out the back he was on the phone to someone” a pro skater replied.
“What’s the betting Karen’ out there too” Jayne muttered under her breath only so she could hear before thanking Frankie the pro that had given her the information.
“What the hell is going on here? Do I even want to know they explanation is the next question?” Jayne had walked out to quite disgusted at their behaviour but more the fact they’d were nearly 2 hours late for work that morning at first they didn’t know of Jayne’s presence around them and continued kissing each other passionately, until she came up and broke them away from each other.
